Level I Group Class is designed for either of the following:

Puppies four months or older who have had some socialization with other dogs either on their own or through Puppy Kindergarten. Adult dogs who have not had much formal obedience training or need additional class time..

Class is six weeks long, and is usually limited to five or six dogs to ensure personal attention. Your dog's (and your) understanding of the "basics" of positive reinforcement training is essential, and is covered at length during this time. Exercises include learning commands such as:

Let's Go
Down
Stay
Come
Wait
Watch Me
Touch
Drop it
Leave it

In addition, we discuss the how and when of rewards, marker signals (such as clickers and release commands as well as the importance of eye contact and correct handling. And, of course, both of you will learn the skills needed to enjoy each other's company. Once you complete this class, both you and your dog can gain greater proficiency with a Level II class.
